Candlestick
A candlestick is a type of price chart used in technical analysis that displays the open, high, low, and close prices for a given time period. Each candle consists of a body showing the open-to-close range and wicks representing the high and low extremes. Candlestick patterns — such as doji, hammer, engulfing, and shooting star — provide visual clues about market sentiment and potential reversals or continuations. Originated in 18th-century Japan, candlestick charting is now the most widely used chart type among forex and financial market traders worldwide.
