This is a simulation. Prices shown are real historical data, but trades use virtual money with simplified sizing, so results here do not predict live trading performance. CFD trading carries a high risk of losing real money; the majority of retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs.

How to Use the Backtesting Tool

  1. Pick an instrument and timeframe. Choose from 7 forex pairs, Gold, Silver, WTI Crude Oil, Bitcoin, Ethereum, or a major index like the S&P 500 or Nasdaq 100, and a chart interval from 5 minutes up to weekly.
  2. Replay the chart. Press Play to watch price advance bar by bar automatically, or Step to move forward one bar at a time so you can study each candle before deciding. Use Jump to Date to rewind straight to a specific day -- useful for testing how your strategy handled a known historical event.
  3. Add indicators (optional). Open the Indicators menu to overlay moving averages or Bollinger Bands on the price chart, or add RSI / Stochastic in the sub-chart below for momentum signals.
  4. Place a trade. Enter a position size, optionally set a Stop Loss and Take Profit, then click Buy or Sell. The first time you trade in a session you'll be asked for an email so your results can be saved -- this is free and does not require a password.
  5. Keep replaying. Your position stays open while you continue stepping or playing forward. If price touches your Stop Loss or Take Profit, the position closes automatically. You can also open additional positions, even on a different instrument, without closing the first.
  6. Review your results. Every closed trade appears in the Trade Journal below with entry, exit and profit/loss, and your win rate and net P&L update automatically in Session Stats.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a forex backtesting tool?

A backtesting tool lets you replay historical price charts bar by bar and place simulated trades against that real past data, so you can test a trading strategy and see how it would have performed without risking real money.

Is this backtesting tool really free?

Yes. You can replay charts and place unlimited simulated trades at no cost. An email is only requested so you can keep a saved trade journal of your practice sessions -- no credit card and no subscription required.

How do I use the market replay tool?

Pick an instrument and timeframe, then press Play or Step to move the chart forward bar by bar through real historical price action. Click Buy or Sell to open a simulated position with an optional stop loss and take profit, and the tool tracks your profit and loss automatically as the price moves.

Can I backtest more than one trade at a time?

Yes. You can open multiple simultaneous positions, even across different instruments, similar to how a MetaTrader 5 terminal shows all open positions at once. Each one tracks its own live profit and loss independently.

What markets and timeframes are available?

Seven forex pairs (EUR/USD, GBP/USD, USD/JPY, USD/CHF, AUD/USD, USD/CAD, NZD/USD), Gold, Silver, WTI Crude Oil, Bitcoin, Ethereum, and five major indices (S&P 500, Dow Jones, Nasdaq 100, DAX, FTSE 100) are available across 5-minute, 15-minute, 30-minute, 1-hour, 4-hour, daily and weekly timeframes, using real historical price data.

Does the tool support technical indicators?

Yes. You can add Simple Moving Averages, Exponential Moving Average, Bollinger Bands, RSI, Stochastic and MACD directly on the chart from the Indicators menu.

Does backtesting guarantee I will be profitable live trading?

No. Backtesting is an education and strategy-testing tool. Historical performance in a simulation does not guarantee future results, and live trading introduces factors like slippage, emotion and execution speed that a replay cannot fully capture.
