Maximum leverage, limits by instrument, and how to change it
XM offers leverage up to 1:888 on forex pairs for accounts regulated by IFSC (Belize). Accounts under CySEC (EU) are capped at 1:30, and ASIC (Australia) accounts at 1:30 for retail clients. Most UAE and Gulf traders access XM through the IFSC entity where 1:888 is available.

XM Leverage by Account Type
All XM account types — Standard, Micro, Ultra Low, and XM Zero — support leverage up to 1:888 on forex majors under the IFSC regulation. The maximum leverage is the same regardless of which account type you choose.
Dynamic Leverage Rules
XM applies dynamic (tiered) leverage — as your position size grows, the maximum available leverage decreases automatically:

How to Change Your XM Leverage
- Log in to the XM Members Area (client portal)
- Click on your live account and select "Change Leverage"
- Choose your desired leverage from the dropdown (options: 1:2, 1:5, 1:10, 1:25, 1:50, 1:100, 1:200, 1:500, 1:888)
- Confirm the change — it takes effect immediately if you have no open positions
You cannot change leverage while you have open positions. Close all trades first, then adjust.
